You do need to be smart about your spending, but also not scared to the point where your not willing to invest in things.

Don’t be some up tight with your money that you become cheap. Being so cheap that you barely spend money on anything unless it’s something you need or want for yourself.

That type of behavior won’t get you very far, trust ME!! So the next time opportunity comes your way or you need to spend money to invest in bettering your career. DO IT!! STOP HESITATING!! Give things a try to see if they work out for you because, one day if things go right you’ll be living like a boss.
